Bockin Basketball Tournament
« on: November 29, 2007, 04:52:44 PM »
I have had this idea for awhile and have just decdided to post about it now.

it would basicly be games of basketball between the major groups of bockers

Essex, EA's, Invictas, Welsh, Risers, Jurrasics etc

would consist of groups traveling to a mutually agreed upon place, would be an entire day event and would divide games up and do it in an its a knockout style tournament i dont know what we could do the prize as but im sure would could come up with somethink, i dont have a date just want to know how many people realisticly would be intrested in doing this,

a few rules just to make it abit easier to decided if you or any of your group will be coming.

1, 5 players per team
2, 15 minute rounds over two halves and change ends after the first half
3, If teams are still tied after both rounds will fall down to a free throw competition

anyone intrested please post and i will come up with a date and organise it officially thanks all

Sounds like a fab idea, Pro-Jump 101 did a basketball kind of shoot for nuts magazine and they thought it worked really well and was a great laugh!

Haha yes that sounds brilliant, we could get a team of 5!

Remember we beat a proffessional basketball team on our Pro Jumps (according to the Nut's team keeping score) so you are in for a challenge!

Keep me posted with details

Sounds good. But where is good. Preferably indoors id say and early new year A gym jusr North west of M25 maybe? Good communications for all then.

but a display team team?!! could you just do some exibition stuff ---harlem globetrotter style ;D?

What about every team must have atleast 1 ladee?

Some groups maybe able to muster an 'A' and 'B' team  that OK?

What about putting space for scratch/random teams  for peeps not in groups

yea subs will be used as i can see injuries happening jason is not allowed to partake lol

Q orange would be nice

i think the EA's could get a girl to play we dont have acctually have a female in our group of EA's tho carma is honary same as i am an honary Invicta, not sure the display team would be fair tho lol

other groups are welcome if they dont acctually have a group im sure people would play fro other groups but i would say that EAs cannot play for invictas etc etc only members from EAs etc play for people who do not officially have a group.

all groups would need to wear ther own group tees aswell  ;D

You'll find most of the groups that have long standing members have really high skill levels that would be a match for lads in the various display teams  ;)

The good thing about bocking basketball is you just need to have good balance and be able to jump a little so I think it's an even platform for most, its not like stunts are needed  :D

Even our resident "MR OPPP's I have Done it AGAIN Jason" should be able to take part without injuring himself.... I think  :D

Im going to organise this meet for March-April time to give everyone abit of time to organise there teams and people without an official group can organise a team out called ''the others'' lol, also will give people time to practice aswell as organising themselves.

I have been talking this event over with Matttt and we have come up with a couple of restrictions for fairness,

Bockers will have to designate there 5 team members on arrival and team players can have subs if they choose to have one, if they choose to have one subs must be used, and players cannot play for other teams once designated to a specific team for example EA Bockers A team players cannot play for the B team aswell.

Im looking into a sportshall at the min that will let us indoors to play, any help with a gym in london would be awesome if not it will be held in Essex as im sure the Beutifull Becky  :P would be able to help me get into the gym they use.

will post up any possiblities on gyms etc soon and parking and travel etc etc
