Not as easy as you think?
« on: November 30, 2006, 04:18:32 PM »
I've been a little disappointed thus far with my projumping experiences. First the weather has been wet almost everyday since I've had them. I can imagine this is almost as bad as having them for christmas and only being able to stare at the box.

Secondly, I've realised many things on the learning curve are based on one fundamental task. Kanga jumping. For some reason (my age, my balance whatever) I've had a problem with this. Maybe its me or maybe its perfectly normal I really dont know but it was frustrating the hell out of me. I would keep leaning backwards which can literally throw you off your feet. I've not fallen yet but I had a few "wow that was really close" moments. I'm fine bouncing with a wall or something to hold on to and for the most part I can do little bounces with no wall etc but to put some effort into it and to start getting some height is a real hurdle for me.
So today I made the most of the dry weather and I was outside on them for a few hours and although it probably looks real crap to most people I am quite pleased with how I feel on them. My confidence and my abilty have stepped up a notch and I finally am certain this is a hurdle that I will get over shortly.
Anyway I thought I'd make a post for anyone else in a similar situation to me or even considering buying a pair. Unless you have previous gym/trampoline experience, it can take a little while to get used to.

Anyway here's the video:

My tip for anyone having the same problem is learn to do it when there is a strong breeze and put your back to the wind (have a wall in front of you) that way if you do lose ur balance or lean back as I tend to the wind will help a little. Does anyone know if adjusting the rods will make a difference?
