London Bockers/...?
« on: July 31, 2008, 12:33:44 AM »
Anyone living in London, or the nearby area? I'm really surprised that there's no 'Central' London group at all.

I'd love to organise a meet for a few local people to jump around for a bit and learn tricks together etc...

Please let me know if anyone's interested. I'm flexible in terms of travel although South East London is best/.

Cheers,

Kirk

I am sure we could sort out coming to London if you gave us a weekend Glasto? Jelly runs the London Bound Bockers (I think)

Hey Glasto bocker, SOUTH EAST LONDON RULES! Ahem. anyways where are you based? I take it SE! I swing between woolwich, greenwich and beckenham. Have got a group, 'London Bound Bockers' but there is only three people in it so far, lol. Have'nt really hassled people to join, let them do what they want! Defo up for meeting, when you thinking?? I am sorting out a london tour but i need to find out my rota for August first. jelly x

Hey!/.

Yes, I'm currently based very close to Greenwich and would definitely love a meet!

Greenwich park is actually pretty decent for bocking; lots of smooth wide flat paths.

I'm off to Germany + Spain on Monday for 2 weeks or so, but upon return on 16th am free from work [as it stands] on 22nd, 26th, 28th and 31st August.
Come September [again, as it stands], I'm free on the 6th and that's as far as my rota currently goes.....!

All subject to change but generally it should be fine.

Hope to arrange something with others!

Stay in touch, cheers.

Dark Knight: I get back on the 16th, so I'm not free unfortunately- though it's in Cardiff this year I thought...?

Jason: That sounds good. I might have to come along out West at some point then. Where in Hounslow exactly? Is there a Tube Station nearby?

Jason: Yes! Def' let me know if you plan to go into Central at any point; I'd be very much up for that!!

Jelly: Oh yes- the Cutty Sark; of course! We could start at Greenwich park, then march down the slope past the Observatory before heading through Greenwich to the Cutty Sark!
Can't wait to get back from my travels! Looking forward to it...!

Lil-lozzi: Yes the place by the National Film Theatre is good, although low ceilings for bocking, no!?

Cheers,

Kirk

I'm in London during the week DK due to work but try not to work at weekends
On Sundays we are normaly in Hanworth (other side of London from c*ckfosters)
I have got to stay arround home the weekend after CB but if we have a chat at CB either you could come over to Hanworth or Clive might meet you in London if his work allows

All of this sounds awesome!

I'm so glad people are willing/keen to meet in London; thank you!/.

Flying to Germany + Spain tomorrow, but hope to start meeting up with you all in a few weeks time...!

On a final note, I think I'm starting to learn how to get decent height.
Went out bocking last night in Greenwich park again and got great height through taking a large/high one footed step before starting the 2-footed one and also by bending my knees when in the air, and then just before hitting the ground again straightening my legs causing my heels to go into the ground hard and generate great compression. Seems to work for me though please tell me if I'm adopting a method that isn't the right way; I must admit it did get a bit frightening going so high into the air. Time for a helmet I think...
-Also I did suffer horrible spinal pains after bocking again which is a concern. I wonder if it's my body stretching/making use of muscles that I've never used before? Or, more likely it's my technique which is wrong. It only really hurts during SOME 2-footed jumps, i.e. ones that aren't that great.

Looking forward to meeting people who might be able to tell me what's wrong etc.....

Cheers, and see you all when back from travels/.

I cark my car at c*ckfoster because it's easier to get into London by TUBE
From there I can be in Hyde Park in 40 minuets ( has I did for last years CB ).
If your the other side of London I can use the TUBE  ;D

--Back from my travels!/.

Hope everyone is enjoying the CB in Cardiff; just frustrated I can't be there.
Anyone want to meet up somewhere in London soon>!? I'd love to go to Greenwich Park/Cutty Sark area if people want to meet.

Days I'm free over next few weeks are: 22nd, 26th 28th and 31st August. Then the 6th September, as it stands. After that I'm pretty much free whenever except weekends as I'll work part time from then onwards/.

-Hope we can sort out some meets!

Cheers,

Kirk
