what size for a start? when i used to skate i bought some ramp plans off the net which cost about 30 quid and then followed them and had a 3 foot mini in my back garden cost about 350 to build completely but if you going to build a 6 foot u will need a hell of a lot more money!"

The woodwork might be your biggest problem, it needs to be thin enough to bend but strong enough to take impact. Might be an idea to build it up in layers then put linoleum or something over it.

Won't be cheap either, unless you know a good chippy that likes to skate, or bock for that matter.

Aluminium is a good idea! Would still have to be graham norton (professionally bent) but your dad should be able to sort that if he's good with steel.

Might be an idea to sand the surface with some rough grit to stop it being so slippery.

£33.50 from B&Q
My mate made one for his skateboard and the wood cost £33.50. It was quite a big one

Hire a Lorry of some description, Then go 'borrow' one from the local council.
How big do you intend to make the half pipe anyway?

Cheepest way is to dig up your garden build the banks out of the soil and then concrete the surface

You can make it as big as you like, all it costs is a couple of hundred for the Concrete and reinforcing mesh, Won't rot and you can make it any shape you like

And when it gets slippy just jetwash it

But your parents might not agree with you doing it :haha:

Concrete or Steel/Aluminium/Metalness. I wouldn't suggest wood, look at the majority of newer skateparks and they are all steel as it's cheaper, easier to shape and lasts a hell of a lot longer. Plus it won't take anywhere near as much damage.

Jason's idea seems pretty good, or flesh it out with aluminium opposed to concrete (has a bit more given when you smash down on it!)

Just get a load of topsoil delivered and put the banks above the drainage level

Or let it flood and ride through it
