Cancelled-Basingstoke meet 27/02/10
« on: February 23, 2010, 06:14:07 PM »
Hi all...

There weather looks good for Saturday, so thought I'd tried to organise a meet in Basingstoke once again.

I have a driving lesson in the morning so can't start the meet till 2pm.

The plan is the same as before- Meet at Eastrop Park for 2pm (link to address below)
I can meet people travelling by train at the station, if needed.

Hi All,

Newbie old dude here.   Was thinking of maybe coming along if it's ok to pick up some tips and watch the skills on display.

Got some stilts before Xmas, but only had them on once, so keen to learn.

Expecting some Grandad comments, but never to late to try new things I say.

Graham.
Hmmmmmmm........Why did I buy these again?!?!?!?

It's meant to snow really hard in Newbury on Sun so I'm assuming it'll be like that in Basingstoke.

lot peeps travelling, i think u rite.

maybe team up with  james  to workout somat for bas or brack next w/e

Also, a quick flag-up  to thinking of some 'loose' co ordination between clubs un individuals in the south un south east

Just think folks  un PM me if u reccon its worth a properpost.

There r a fair few peeps now who r willing and enjoy travelling around to meets all over the area. Especially if it helps new areas and people. And most of us want to meet other bockers see other spots and go to 'big' meets.

But there is a limit to time energy and money. So which one/ones to choose?

Might it be an idea , for after Easter, for each club to have 'headline' event in turn ,1 a month. Peeps would know ,if they wanna travel 'this is the event'. There would also be a gentlemans/ladies agreement from other clubs ,that whilst they might be running events at same, they woudnt run gym events or really 'push' things.

Id be thinking of aiming for most people not having to drive for more than 7-80 min ( excluding any urban conjestion) and many less

Un this is just a ruff idea  but

March Southampton ( sports aid) ---OK I know this is b4 easter  but its around already
April ( l8 well after easter) Reading
May Portsmouth, beach front Bock...1 of the bank hols and b4 the roads get really busy
June London 'Walk for Life' Again its already in many peeps diaries
July Another Thames Valley Town or Kent
August London again...assuming SW trains does the same offer as last year of £10 return anywhere at w/e's

Sept Kent or Thames Valley town

No great organisation, these event will b happening anyways. its just others in adjacent areas giving support.

nah. I was just doing Summer :Csmile:.

But more 'medium' sized meets and by maximizing numbers. Nowt big or complex. But now re looking at the list, if peeps like, they r all 'different'

At mo, there r a load of peeps who got stilts for christmas, just got the hang of um  and desperatly  want company, any company  but NOWWWWW. :Cyes:

Well kewl, bring that on for a month -6 weeks, along with (hopefuly) the last of the snow. But with a goal of a small amount of structure in the South East behond that
