How quick to the rubber tyres wear out?
« on: June 11, 2008, 08:23:10 PM »
I still haven't bought mine so I'm wondering should I get a spare rubber tyre thing that goes on the end?

Thanks

Can do but it is much more economical and better grip wise to make or get tire socks

I'm really not sure it is more economically.

My 7's hoofs are still going strong after using them for over a year now.
They cost 32 pounds for a pair, surely you end up spending around that much on tyres each year if you choose to go for tyre socks?
If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much room!

Grip and performance of 7's hoofs is just as good as tyre socks in my opinion.

Also you don't have an ugly peice of tyre on the bottom of your stilts and there is no chance of the hoof slipping sideways or coming off unlike tyre socks

I have tried many different types of Sock on the bottom of PJ's and I have bocked on a set of sevens in the rain

The 7 hoofs give very good wear and good grip in the dry and on rough surfaces in the wet but I felt that they slipped on wet pavements and wet smooth asphalt (wet cobbles were interesting to) only had them for a short time so maybe they grip better in the wet when they wear a bit

I have now returned to Hoofies rubber and I find it feels more secure in the wet on smooth surfaces

I know I sell them so I must be concidered Biast so this is a personal opinion but if your at a meet with me and it rains I'll let anyone try them and see if they agree
