Bockers TV
« on: January 02, 2012, 10:15:37 PM »
Along time ago (almost a year to the day actually) I talked about a project that needed enthusiastic people to be a part of. Due to time constraints in my life then I didnt have the time to commit to it myself and it got put on hold.

I am hopeful this spring/summer things will be a little less hectic so its time to come clean and tell you about Bockers TV.

Not many people are still around to remember Radio Bock. This was an idea we started years ago in the hope of sharing our bocking news and stories in a weekly radio show. We started talking about bocking in the bay and I remember one christmas day we had a live interview with Henry Stuntman Holloway from the states. As time grew on, it pretty much became less about the bocking and more about getting intoxicated at my place and seeing what happens when you microwave an orange or a lightbulb.

I am hoping Bockers TV will take the original concept and do it right. For one, it wont be broadcast live and it will be filmed with some direction and editing and only be about 10 mins long and be shown once a month or maybe even less frequently, who knows.
What I would like to do is start travelling the country with our bockers and our cameras and meet everyone across the country who can co-host the show so everyone can get involved. I'd really like to see groups across the country actually host it themselves and it could then act like a baton in a relay race where one group starts where the last group finished off.

Of course this is all wishful thinking and requires people to be able to talk confidently to a camera and not be afraid to share their good and bad bocking experiences.

I'm happy to do a few episodes with the welshies so you can see what it will be like, and I'm sure we'll adapt it as time goes on.
If anyone has any ideas or suggestions then please feel free to put them forward. There are no rules here except it needs to be family friendly but any swearing can be edited or beeped in post production.

sounds like a brilliant idea.

The only thing that come to mind is getting the public to ask questions. I really liked that on radio bock where people could ask another bocker a question. I dont know how you could do this with non live tv?

just shooting that one out there   :Cerr:

But I really enjoyed radio bock.

Fab Idea Locky

Just to add a bit to it I think you said to me once that you might think about doing a tour of all the clubs in the country

So how about an occasional Roadshow type program so we could all see how good the bocking is elsewhere

This might encourage bockers to travel to see each other like we all used to

One other thing will you be taking in vids to use as part of the programe as a lot of the vids people make are good and interesting and HD recorders are cheep nowdays (and what a bragging point "My vid was on Bockers TV"  :Claugh: )

You really do come up with some corker ideas mate

That is basically the idea behind it. I want the show to be quite fast paced and buzzing. Sort of gadget show style but with bocking and keeping it under 10 mins means we're cramming a lot in every episode.
It is definitely not going to be about flips and looking like the pros and I'd like nothing more than a newbie bocker to film themselves every time they go out and then we can edit it together to show how they have improved. Maybe even give themselves a bench or obstacle that they set as their goal on day 1 and then the build up until they eventually get it.
I can maybe even see us broadcasting live from capital bocking….though that might defeat the purpose a bit but nevermind :)

The grand tour is still on the cards and I expect it to play a big part of this project.

Now all we need is the rain to stop and the sun come out to play.
