BockModZ.com Launched!
« on: January 14, 2008, 04:50:56 AM »
Hello everyone,
I have launched BockModZ.com!
http://www.bockmodz.com
Soon to be... THE One-Stop Do-It-Yourself Shop for jumping stilts.

Currently it features my tutorial on quick-release bindings.
I will be adding more tutorials and updating the site often.

You can also buy materials needed for the mods.
Currently, you will have to email me for information, but I am working on a system with PayPal.

(The site is optimized for 1920x1200 screen res.)
Please let me know what you think,

-Zen

Big News:
First, I am pleased to announce that BockModZ.com will be offering Premium Grade quick-release bindings with very high quality metal buckles and tri-glides.
These will be very limited until I find a bulk supplier.
If you are interested, please watch for them in the Pro-Jump Classifieds.

Second, I am on schedule to release a superior tyre sock design this weekend.
The full tutorial will be posted at BockModZ.com  :PJR: :PJL:

it all looks good, mod tutorials are always good to have but this:

(The site is optimized for 1920x1200 screen res.)

is just silly.

The optimized resolution was only included because I happened to design the site at that res.  After the fact, I altered a few image sizes to fit smaller resolutions.
1600x1200 is just as optimized  :D

Looks good zendalfire

Very well designed web site and good mods

Just one tip you might want to add a disclaimer as people sue at the drop of a hat now days not that a disclaimer helps much but at least you tried and that goes a long way in the courts  :haha:

Nice one, remember to add the postage to the final price if you use the paypal facility. May be an idea to list it separate for UK and USA postage  ;)

Look forward to it  :)

I may have to make a couple tyre sock tutorials, as there are a few advantages to each.  And I've yet to find that magical hardware that will combine all the designs AND keep it easy.  So close... :(

I will be listing a few more sets of straps in the next week. If you plan to go that route, and want a specific color scheme, drop me a note and I'll see if I can oblige.

I am currently preparing the 'Spring Wrap Design Ideas' section...
I wonder, would you prefer a 'Spring Design Gallery' where you can view and submit photos of your own stilts?
This would be specifically geared toward spring designs (rather than photos of bockers :D ), to keep with the 'Mod/Customize' theme.

Jason -
The main difference from the gallery here at Projump would be how it is organized and specialized.  I would also add tips, etc.
Think of it as a database of spring designs that lists the creator along with how-to tips and info.

Going on a hardware expedition today, so I hope to perfect the tire sock/boot design and post soon.

A bit of news:

Been very busy developing mods.
The tyre sock design has gone through a few revisions..  The easiest, most efficient (in use of materials) is a tie-up design.  You only need 12 to 14 inches of tire, 2 shoelaces, and about 10 minutes to make a pair.

The most attractive, super-quick-release version uses somewhat specialized hardware, but can be taken on or off in about 2 seconds.  I currently use the this design, and I must say, they are very convenient  ;D

Initial spring cover design finished testing, with excellent marks.  More news on that soon..

More tutorials coming online this week.  Tire sock on Monday and a few minor mods during the week.

Tie-up Tyre sock tutorial now online.
(May change it a bit later...)
I used metric measurements, as they were more even numbers.
I'll add the Quick-release version at later date.

Time to go bocking  ;)

New tutorial online!  This is something different.
After taking some time to decorate my springs with electrical tape, I was disappointed at how fast they were damaged.  So, instead of continually 'touching up' the design, I created this spring cover.
They work quite well and I like the somewhat rugged look.  Besides that, they help to balance when leaning against objects.  Lean the back of your spring against a wall, it won't slide a bit, or get scuffed  ;)
The stilts will easily stand up on their own against a wall as well, when normally the slick spring would make them slide and fall over.
Let me know what you think  :)

Riser trousers, eh?  I'll put it on the list, but I think those will require sewing skills from those who want to make a pair.
