Hi All,
Having eventually managed to meet up with a group of Bockers at Eastrop Park in Basingstoke last sunday I have to say a big thank you to Jason for the loan of a pair of stilts, I had a great time and have just taken delivery of my own pair.
I'm 40 years old (good lord I really am!), live in Newbury, Berkshire and first learned about Bocking through a work colleague (Katy). I've always been into things that are a little 'out there' - used to paraglide, I'm a scuba diving instructor and as you can probably see from my avatar I use explosives both professionally and for fun!
So I guess by most 'normal' measures I'm 'Mad' and proud of it - sanity is just so boring.
Like I said, I met up with a few bockers in Basingstoke and was only expecting to do about 20 minutes as I'd been told that most first timers can only handle it for this sort of length of time as they're using unfamiliar muscules. It did hurt, but I worked through it and didn't taken them off for 3 hours!
Apparently I'm a natural and Jason couldn't believe it was my first time as I was hapilly running within about half an hour and jumping confidently by the time I decided to call it quits.
Looking forward to using my bocks to get fit (they allow me to run without the arthritus in my toes acting up) and coming along to other meets.
