Thinking about a dance on bocks.
« on: June 01, 2010, 10:39:26 PM »
I have been wanting to do a show on bocks for a long time and thought it would be good to do a dance on the bocks to raise money for a charity - (Hanslow animal welfare).
I haven't made a dance up yet because I wanted to see who would be interested and join. If you would like to be apart of the dance please let me know.
Thanks Hollie.  :Csmile:

If I get a couple of members interested then I will sort out times and places of rehursles through PM.

There is already a very good Bocking dance :P
Very well know...
I shall get a video of it, it's jumpstyle on stilts... bit difficult to learn though, I only learnt it as a joke but it became very useful in Riser Raptor dance offs :P

Jumpstlye on Bocks? Combining two already bonkers activities. Now that sounds like fun

Also, and point out if I am being dense, where are you based? Where would the rehearsals take place. If I can make it I will  :Csmile:

wot about 'nite fever'?   from saturday nite fever?   if u watch the film ..or youtube clip'  u will see its aload of peeps amaturely following john travoltas moves...and can be learnt individually in basic form  then put together as a group at a later date.  it also has quite slow moves besides being pretty basic

And remember 1 doesnt need to be fab...just being on stilts is normally enuff alone.

I think it was Oscar Wilde said somat to the effect of 'the important fact about a dog walking on its hind legs isnt that he does it badly, but that he does it atall'

So a group of peeps doing 'anything' in harmoney wiill b brill.

but if u wanna go 'hibrow'  a variation on the dance of the signets from Swan Lake?

The OK GO dance from Million ways to be cruel would look good on bocks

Or even the Here it goes again one but you would need 8 running machines for that one  :Claugh: and it might get dangerous

It sounds like it's gonna be fun Hollie

I do have a dance already to the song Bad Boy's but haven't got round to trying it out on bocks yet as I first made it with Gemma as a normal dance without bocks. It will need some ajusting but should be good if we have lots of dancers.  :Csmile:
I have made some leaflets with the information needed about the dance and will give them out during walk for life this sunday.
If your not comming to walk for life and would like one please email me on hollie_2010@hotmail.co.uk and i'll send you it through email.
