Suggestion for new armour
« on: August 14, 2007, 08:34:18 PM »
Do I see a niche in the market is there a product I haven't seen I can buy? I have only fallen twice since I've had my bocks. Both times though I hurt my hip where the top of the thigh hit the ground.

What I'd like is a pair of cycling shorts with soft padding covering the hip and a hard plastic plate like my knee pads over that. The first time I fell I took a lot of skin off the left side of my hips. Not pleasant.

Anyone know of any armour like that?

Oh well, you'll hate me next spring then. I've just got a job at a ski resort in the French Alps for the winter. I'm going to spend the whole winter snowboarding. I wonder if I can attach my PJs to the board. A bouncing snowboard. I like the idea of that.
 ;D

I hate boarders because they are always taking me out, and sitting in the middle of the piste in the way, plus i have one less ligament in my left knee than i should do thanks to a boarder. what resort? i'm going to france next year, freestyle skiing all the way!

ps french girls are lovely  ;D

The resort is La Plagne. Where in the French Alps is anyone's guess. I have been warned though.......Do not mess around with the guests. I've been told that there isn't any point anyway because of the sheer number of staff there but apparently there is a no fraternisation with guests policy.

My boss said it started when one staff member got friendly with a guest and then they tried to get a free holiday by claiming the staff member took advantage of them.

Bocking in thu snow I imagine would be difficult (lift 5kg bocks covered in snow, ouch) and if the snow gets compacted so it's slipery, you'll die bocking on it.

Yea but bouncing through a foot of the soft powdery stuff would be fun and a soft landing if you fall

And trying to jump over snow drifts would be fun  ;D
